Spidersloveme seems to post a lot and may be going over the community limit (most likely unintentionally).
Yes, you're right. Thanks for the heads up.
We already have a femmycycle tag, as well as tags for most other cups that I know of. Look at the community tag list rather than the sidebar, we only list the most common cups in the FAQ :)
I posted a message and it ended up in the mod's queue - it is a time-sensitive message for "Activism" and spreading the word about cups - I'd really appreciate it if you can consider releasing my post to the main board so long please :-) An article about menstrual cups was published free of charge in a local women’s magazine and the journalist who wrote the article has called for comments – it would be REALLY great if some of the forum users from here could help spread positive comments about cups in general at http://all4women.co.za/health-and-wellness/health-tips/womens-health/product-of-the-week-meluna-menstrual-cups.html

You're effectively asking for the community to go and help you market your product. I'm afraid that's not really what we're here for, so we've rejected your post from the queue.
How about a "teen" tab where teens could get info relevant to teen issues with menstrual cups. I'm a teen, and although there is a "virgins" tab, not all virgins are teens, and a teens tab would be very nice.
I wonder if you could make a Jasmine cup tag? It's a knock-off of a Diva with a longer stem that sometimes comes up when people mention having a super high cervix. There are probably three or four posts on it, and when I was looking into this cup, I only found these posts through searching on Google.
For under "Cup Use and"
could you possibly add something like... "Measuring/Measurements?" and/or "Capacity?"
The Sckoon cup is new, and there have been several posts about it. Could we make a tag for that?
I second this - I just submitted a post about my experience with my new SckoonCup.
Hi, would it possible to update the tags sidebar to include all the recent cups? (cuplee, natural mamma, Rubycup, femmycycle. lily cup, sckoon cup, etc etc) I noticed when I clicked on the aphabetical tags list that some do have their own tags but they're just not visible in the cup brands section in the side bar.
I think it would be really useful to have the recent 'how can I enlarge my diva cup's airholes?' in the community faq as it seem to be a common topic, but no airholes tag. It would be nice to have serpent's post comparing the highest capacity cups (xl meluna, large yuuki and large fleurcup) in the community faq. :) thanks!
SckoonCup needs a tag, I think?
any reason why my posts to the main page "wait for approval" and then never show :(
They contain links to sites outside livejournal, so they're caught by the spam filter. I wasn't checking LJ over the long weekend here in the UK so I wasn't there to free them up. They'll be up soon!
Could we get a tag for the NaturalMamma cup, please?
Has anybody ever tried this menstrual cup called femmycycle if they had could they make a tag for it. I'm trying to see which cup i should get for me since the insteads i tried didn't work for me , so if you could make a tag for femmycycle that would be great ! The website is called : femmycycle.com.
who deleted the post about wearing two cups at once? do you have a copy?
i *think* i have a notification that i missed (i use the lj inbox and deleted comments disappear from it) - was there anything after my post towards the upset blogger, especially a reply from them?
if you prefer to discuss this over email, mine is s€rpeńtti at suomi 24.fi (regular E and N, nothing between suomi and 24).

I have a question. I have recently put a lot of research into ordering my first menstrual cup. The question I asked myself over and over while looking into all the different products is Why do menstrual cups seam to be nearly exclusively European? I know that the keeper, moon cup, and diva cup are American but three is a very small percent of the numerous brands of cups that are out there. How have cups gained so much popularity in Europe with so very little in the US? I am just confused as to how I have never herd of menstrual cups until my 20's. Why is it that there are pad/tampon commercials on tv during almost every commercial break but their isn't a menstrual cup company advertising in America and why can't go in Walmart or local drugstore and buy one? What is the difference in our cultures? My last question is their any US company/website that I can order European cups from.
Hi! For questions like this we ask that you actually post to menstrual_cups
. You can post using OpenID with your Facebook or other account if you don't want to make an LJ account.
I tried to post a question to the main page, but I am not sure if it got through. I made a LJ account, and the post shows up under "edit entries" under my profile, but I do not see the post on the main page. Does this just take time? I can't get my cup out and really need help.
Don't panic! We'll help :) What's happened is that you posted to your own journal instead of to the community. There are two things you need to do:
1) Join the community by clicking the Join link at the top of our profile page http://menstrual-cups.livejournal.com/profile
2) Post to it either by clicking the 'Post' link at the top of that page, or by going to the generic 'post an entry' page and selecting menstrual_cups
in the drop down.
You're going to be fine :)
I would like to add my voice to those who have requested a Sckoon cup tag. I would also like to see a FemmyCycle tag; thank you.

Those tags are already in use. We don't list all the tags in the sidebar, since the list of cups is too long at this point to make it useful.

Wouldn't that mean we'd need to have tags for ALL the sizes of ALL the cups? That seems excessive...
I posted a comment about a week ago (anonymously) about a FB group for menstrual cups that I wanted to run and how best to promote it here, but haven't seen it posted.
In case it has been lost, I just made and run the group and this is the URL: https://www.facebook.com/groups/135522973313456/

Thank you for the heads up. Taken care of!
Hello, I am a new cup user and just joined livejournal. I clicked on "post to journal" but was not sure my message would be specifically directed here, since the url did not say "menstrual cups". I would reallly appreciate any pointers, or if there was a wiki I could read on how to post to the forum? Thanks so much (sorry if I posted twice, but I don't think I did - my draft vanished)
Hi and welcome to lj :) The problem is that you didn't actually join the community yet. To post in most livejournal communities, you have to join them. The easiest way to do that is to click through to the community page (menstrual_cups
) and at the top of your screen you should see a gray overlay bar. There will be a section there that says "You are viewing community menstrual_cups
," and it will give you an option to join the community. Just click on it and follow the directions through :) After that, when you say "post to journal", there should be an option that says "in community" next to your username at the top of the page. That's a pull-down that will let you select the community to post in. A lot of this stuff and more is in the LJ FAQ, which can be found here.
Hiya, my new post on the Rainbow Cup got flagged for moderation. :( I included a link to the site where I bought it and two photos. Tried to put everything behind a cut, but I'm not sure I was successful. LJ is weirdly glitchy when I try to put things behind cuts. Anyway, could you take a look and approve it? Thanks!
It's just because it included a link. I'm not sure why that happens! I'll get it sorted out right now.
Could you please add the following new tags:
Lilycup, Natu, Maggacup?
Thank you! You guys are awesome :)

Hey! I just noticed that the ljseek search that you use isn't that great, e.g. I tried searching for "pushing out" and it just searched for "pushing". The livejournal search itself is much better ( http://www.livejournal.com/search/index.bml -> use the advanced search to search within menstrual-cups) and gave me the results I wanted. Just a tip, maybe if it's possible you could switch the ljseek search with livejournal's if that's possible at all?
Anyway, I found helpful information in the end, thank you guys for an awesome place with lots of info :)
Thanks for the info! When we added that the LJ search didn't exist, heh. I'll update things.
just noticed that some flickr pics in the profile are gone. and maybe it's better to include more of the brands now? edit: and it still says cups are worn low in the vagina, which is true for some but not for everyone...

This is just fine for the main community :)
