If you're going to freeze the thread, then don't ask me questions. It's not very nice being asked questions and not being allowed to answer them. :-(

Hi! I work for GladRags and we love the menstrual cups community on LiveJournal. I wanted to let you know that we've changed our shipping policy on GladRags.com so now all menstrual cups ship for free! Please share this info with the community if you feel it's appropriate :)

[Moral Lectures and Angry Messages From Members]

While I understand your concerns, I'm beginning to feel quite unwelcome here myself. I've gotten numerous emails and private facebook messages from members of this community who wish for me to leave.

You obviously aren't fond of me either considering that for every comment I've left these past few days, I'll find a message below it saying "Don't say that/don't do that/you said something that I don't agree with". I feel it would be in my best interest to leave the community and find another that doesn't lecture or try to impose their beliefs onto other members. Becoming upset over someone using the words "girl" and/or "woman" in a menstrual community seems completely absurd to me.

As much as it pains me to leave (I've been a member for almost 8 months now), I can't deal with the angry messages, stress, and moral lectures from people who think they are "making a point".

Being part of this community was nice while it lasted. I met many new friends here (most whom don't even want to speak to me anymore), and learned a lot of valuable tricks and tips here.

Thanks but no thanks, time for me to move on.

Judging by all the hate mail in my Facebook inbox, I know I will not be missed.

~Ellie

Wow. I'm so sorry you got angry messages. That's not a good way to discuss the topic at hand, at all. :-(

Teen tag?

I think a teen tag should be added! There are many repetitive teen-related posts.Questions could be answered easier for teen members if there was a teen tag.

Please consider it! I would love to tag old posts!

Re: Teen tag?

We've got an "age" tag right now - most of the posts in there end up being about teens anyway.

Tracking

I can track this discussion and individual messages in the forums, as well as other community discussions, but for this community I'm unable to track if a new discussion posts, or specific discussions for new comments.

Is this something in this community, or something in my LJ account set up?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Tracking

It's just that the community design was written before tracking was available, so the link isn't visible on post pages. If you add ?Style=mine to the end of the URL you should be able to see it.

Adding it to the design has been on my list for a while!

Hi! You can create a livejournal account and post to the community, or you can check out our web page for past postings on capacity if that will help!

Airport Tag

In case this went unseen...There was a request for a new tag in

http://community.livejournal.com/menstrual_cups/2477510.html

Thought maybe you could have a "traveling" tag in general and maybe sub categories: air, land, water... There was a really good question months ago about a scuba diver who would be on a boat. I think it was more a specific question about diving, but was interested due to the scenario. idk, thought I'd post here in case you missed the request in the discussion. ~Thanx!

Re: Airport Tag

Two thoughts on this:

- LiveJournal doesn't let us nest tags, so this would involve retagging all the posts.
- We get travel questions so infrequently that it probably wouldn't be that useful.

Would it be possible to get a moratorium on posts that have no content other than "I ordered X, how long will it take to get here?" types of shipping questions? I realize people get impatient for stuff to arrive, but that's what tracking numbers and Google are for. There's just been a lot of these posts lately and they're rather irritating.

Oops, I see we never replied to you - we did see your comment and discuss it!

At the moment, we're considering those posts on topic and welcome in menstrual_cups. They do seem to come in waves and they can be a bit boring when there's three of them in a row, but yeah, they're within the rules.

User serpent_84 uses a userpic that may be quite 'triggering' to those who self-harm, or who may be particularly sensitive to that.
I understand that everyone has a right to use what pics they want, but as a past self-harmer, I really don't like to see that within the community and that may mean there are others feeling that way. Could there possibly be a rule against potentially 'triggering' icons like these?

Your LJ username thingy broke, but I assume you mean the one in this post? http://community.livejournal.com/menstrual_cups/2506909.html We'll have a chat and figure something out.

For the record, you're always welcome to ask a poster to change (or avoid using) an icon that you find upsetting. However, I take it by your commenting anonymously here that you wouldn't feel comfortable doing that. I'll see how everyone else feels about how much we as mods should step in.

um and i came here just to say that maybe the "brands not yet seen/used" section isn't necessary atm? at least iriscup and naturcup can be moved to the main section as there are people here who have them.. and random but is this supposed to look like this? http://prntscr.com/1f90f i used to think that yuuki was different in some way, like the insteads :D
also i think kuradi8's epic chart http://community.livejournal.com/menstrual_cups/1285963.html#cutid1 deserves its own link in the sidebar, it's buried under a bunch of other posts... btw i like the suggestion on the first page to rename the community faq link as something like "beginners start here", we seem to have too many newbies who can't find it/don't read it before posting:/

Could you point me at some posts where people have actually been able to order Iriscups or Naturcups?

We don't put individual posts in the sidebar - that's for tags.

Photo on my blog

Hi! I've got an italian blog, about being vegeterian, ecologism and so on. I've written a post about menstrual cups and, among the other ones, I put in some images that are on this site. Is it a problem? I found them on the google page, It seems they are not protected by copyright, but I like to know if I can keep them on my blog. This the post:
http://vegetarianizzando.blogspot.com/2011/01/la-rivoluzione-della-luna.html
I've written the photos come from here, but if it is a problem, I'll remove them.

Re: Photo on my blog

Do you mean the pictures posted in the main community? They are under the copyrights of their individual posters, we can't give you permission to use them. If you want to use the pictures posted, I would suggest making a comment in each post and asking if you can use them!

User crittercandy is repeatedly posting links to an online shop although there's not even a question about where to buy cups in the original entries.

I'm confused on what this tag would be used for - we already have an activism tag, which is about spreading the word, and a family and friends tag, which is more about conversations you've had with your nearest and dearest, both of which I think could fit an "education" tag. Unless you had something else in mind? :)
