How do you access the memories?

Hi, I've been reading this community for about a year and have posted a few times, but I have a few inquiries:
How do you access the memories? I used to be able to do this, but I forget how!! I know there is an archives section, but the memories section I'm refering to had old journal entries by topic, not date.
The folds tag doesn't work, it says it doesn't exist. Could you look into this?
How do you do an lj cut/upload pictures onto lj? I've tried searching for this, but I can't find it. I'd like to upload pictures of the lunette selene, as the old post with them doesn't have functioning pictures.
Thank you so much!

Re: How do you access the memories?

The LJ FAQ covers memories, LJ cuts and the LJ scrapbook. It can be found here:
http://www.livejournal.com/support/faq.bml
Let us know if you have trouble finding anything.

The tag about folds is this one:

New tag request

I'd like to request a new tag: teens!!!
There seems to be a fair few of posts about teens using cups. The "age" and "virginity" tags might not apply to them. What are your thoughts?

Yuuki Cup Tag

Could we move Yuuki Cup to the main list of brands now that we have pictures of it and someone's report of using it?

BTW, thank you mods for everything you do to keep the mc community running smoothly! It's an invaluable resource.

Meluna Cup Tag

After a quick skim, it appears nobody has requested a tag for the new Meluna cup! Can we get a "meluna" tag too? :D

Done. :) Someone else will have to put it on the sidebar, though, as I still am not quite sure how to XD

Hi, in this post http://community.livejournal.com/menstrual_cups/1752990.html ohwhattodo has stated that her mother using pads provokes her reaction of "eww" and compares her mother wearing one to her mother wearing a diaper. I believe this violates the no-rudeness policy.

New tag

I just skimmed through the tags and I may have missed what I was looking for, but shouldn't there be a "money saving" tag? That's a pretty big attraction point for cups, and people like to discuss prices and stuff.

With the Lunette and MCUK being unable to be shipped to the US, I was wondering if it was possible to create a post that had individuals living in Europe willing to act as the middleman(woman?) in order to ship these cups. I'm not sure as to how many people are willing to do so, or if my request for finding such individuals would be flouting the rules, so I'm here to ask :)

Posting limit?

Purplefog is posting nice things, but she *is* posting rather a lot. Maybe she isn't aware of the posting limit in this comm?

customer service tag?

Hi,
I was wondering if it would be useful to make a customer service tag and put it under the cup brands section? I think it would help people if they're wavering between certain cups or wondering if there's a history of bad customer service with a certain company.

There's a contest to win a free Keeper menstrual cup. Is it okay if I make a new post to promote it? Thanks!

I thought there was a tag for something like "cups after baby", but I can't find it... I was trying to direct someone to posts with that info.
Since the question comes up every now and then, could it be added as a tag?

Meluna tag

Hi sweetrush,

Maybe you could add a meluna tag to the brands section? Speaking of which, I'm going to Germany in two weeks and hope to get one and test it out soon - I think the whole new stem/material is a pretty interesting thing.

Cheers,
maita

Re: new tag request

Hi tnt,

I don't think a new tag is required for this specifically. We do have a 'doctors' tag, and you're welcome to post using that if you want to ask the community how they've found their doctors reacted to their using a cup, how to find a doctor who is sympathetic, etc.

Thanks!

Hi! I"m just asking for permission to make a post selling a barely used (less than 5 minutes while NOT on my period) Mooncup UK in the community. I understand that people may be against this, but I feel it is worth a try, and I really don't want to waste it.

Thank you. :)

I'm wondering why I've seen someone use the Meluna tag before, but I don't see it next to the other brand name tags on the right (not even in the new brands section).

The other comment I have is that the website menstrualcups.org doesn't seem to direct properly anymore, so the link at the top, "Menstrual Cup Support," doesn't work either. I think there is just a problem with the encoding - the message I get is:

Warning: fopen(http://menstrual_cups.livejournal.com/?s2id=5656944) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: HTTP request failed! HTTP/1.0 403 Forbidden in /home/menstrua/public_html/index.php on line 5

Just gave the menstrualcups.org URL a try - it worked fine for me...

We have to manually update the tag list, so we just haven't gotten around to it... ;) For the most up-to-date list of tags, look here.

Hi mods! Did you realize that the MeLuna is still not listed on the bar at the side under "cup brands"? It isn't there either as a brand we know/use, or as one we don't... I'm not sure which category it really should be under, but we are rapidly accumulating posts about it!

First time user-not going in!

Hey everyone!
I am 17 and i tried using my diva cup for the first time tonight. I was really excited to use it, cuz i'm kinda a environmentalist and i love the idea of not throwing out any tampons or pads.
But I tried putting it in and it just wouldn't go in. it hurt SO MUCH! I am a viring, so things don't go in there on a regular basis. But I have no problems with tampons at all.
The cup keeps popping open before it goes in, and so I just try and keep shoving it in there, but the pain is too much. even if I get it somewhere up there, I can't deal with it, I can't even move it hurts so much. Am I doing something wrong? Please don't tell me I'm to small to use the cup. I really want to use it.
I've tried to put it in probably around 15 times now, and have had no luck what so ever.
So Please any suggestions??
And I have tried relaxing my muscles...

Hey there,

This question belongs in menstrual_cups. This is a community for the mods, and this open thread is just for issues pertaining to the community itself (like tag requests).

Thanks!

Hi! I put up a post yesterday about a group order to Femininewear. Is it okay for me to re-post this a few times over the next two weeks to keep it fresh on the list? I'll stay within the limit of two posts per week. - Katie

Sure, I don't have a problem with your reposting it a couple of times as long as you stay under the post limit.
But use your judgment...if it's been a slow week, maybe hold off on reposting it if it hasn't been pushed too far down the page.

Does the rule about posting no more than twice a week only apply to an original post or does that also apply to replying to other people's posts? Don't wanna break the rules.

How to post?

Hi all :)
I'm new to using a menstrual cup and new to this site, just joined yesterday after reading your site for a few days and would like to ask a question about cups, but I can't see how to make a post. It's usually really obvious on other forums so I guess I'm just not seeing it. Help?

Re: How to post?

One way you can post is go to your LJ home page and go to the "communities" menu and select "post an entry." When you get to the posting page, make sure you select menstrual_cups so that you don't post to your own journal by mistake.
